Franplast sebs tpe production

What is a ThermoPlastic Elastomer (TPE)?

TPE is the acronim of ThermoPlastic Elastomer.

ELASTOMER is a material with "elastic behaviour"; a material which can largely deform when stress is applied and returns to the original shape when the stress is removed. Such elastic behaviour is similar to that one of traditional vulcanized rubber.

THERMOPLASTIC is a material that becomes soft and viscous like a liquid when heated, and returns solid when cooled at room temperature. This process is reversible.

The thermoplastic property allows the materials to be molded/transformed into the desired shapes.
Thanks to thermoplasticity, the molding process is reversible and can be theoretically repeated many times without chemical modification of the materials
